During his boyhood, he was always interested in assisting others. He was involved in the local community and had close ties with his family and friends. After graduating from high school, he attended Portland State University, where he was involved in several student life activities. He took lessons in various subjects until he worked out how to apply his talents in a way that would challenge him academically and put him in a position to assist others. He excelled at Portland State University, earning a BA in 1985.
Douglas Pitassi went to work at Pacific Automation after finishing high school, where he has stayed for more than three decades. Doug Pitassi launched Office Automation in 1976 in Portland, Oregon, but the firm has grown tremendously under his supervision and leadership. Pacific Automation started by selling copy machines. Doug Pitassi joined the firm more than 30 years ago. The company has grown significantly during his leadership, continually supplying cutting-edge technology and award-winning machinery to clients nationwide.

He also has a wide range of hobbies and interests. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, especially his two grandkids, and attending local sporting events. He enjoys spending time outside, and the Pacific Northwest has magnificent landscapes. He also likes camping since it allows him to reconnect with nature. He enjoyed sharing his musical abilities as a drummer in a band.
